Ubuntu Tweak for Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic open for testing!

Hello, every Karmic guys! First congrats to Ubuntu, the Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala Alpha 4 was just released. I think you’ve been waiting for a while, now Ubuntu Tweak is supporting Karmic! Now it is ready for testing. If you are using Ubuntu 9.10, Please visit https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-tweak-testing/+archive/ppa Add the following two lines to your /etc/apt/sources.list, then you can try the version for karmic. deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-tweak-testing/ppa/ubuntu karmic main deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-tweak-testing/ppa/ubuntu karmic main Please report any problem you meet, and remeber, if your desktop isn’t GNOME, DON”T report bug except the modules under “Applications”.

Installing LAMP On Ubuntu

In this guide I will show you how to install a LAMP system. LAMP stands for L inux, A pache, M ySQL, P HP. The guide is intended to help those who have very little knowlegde of using Linux. Install Apache To start off we will install Apache. 1. Open up the Terminal ( Applications > Accessories > Terminal ). 2. Copy/Paste the following line of code into Terminal and then press enter: sudo apt-get install apache2 3. The Terminal will then ask you for you're password, type it and then press enter. Testing Apache To make sure everything installed correctly we will now test Apache to ensure it is working properly. 1. Open up any web browser and then enter the following into the web address: http://localhost/ You should see a folder entitled apache2-default/ . Ubuntu 9.10: Koala karmic Alpha 4 Released

The Road to Ubuntu 9.10 continues steadily with the release of Alpha 4 karmic Koala, of course it is not a version for use in production environments, but if you're interested in working with the community, you can install it and report bugs . Some new things includrd in this version emphasizes GNOME 2.27.4 . Ubuntu ones installed, by default you will have Linux Kernel 2.6.31-5.24 architecture , new intel video driver available for testing, compiler GCC-4.4 by default, Firefox 3.5.2 by default, Grub 2 default among other improvements .
